   Stripping The Ford Sierra Donor

After I had ordered my kit the search was on for a suitable donor car, which I found locally.
I purchased an "E" registered Ford Sierra 2 Litre Fuel Injection SOHC.

I was not using the wiring in the doors so I snipped this.

Ford's wiring is pre-assembled, so I knew there must be a way to get the dashboard loom out complete. Yes there is through the fuse box hole.
Next off came all the doors and the interior was stripped out.

I had a lot of help from my son Gregor stripping down the donor.

We stripped the ancillaries from the engine including the exhaust. Then Gregor removed the propshaft and the gearbox mounting bolts.

Out comes the engine and gearbox complete with the aid of a hoist and Gregor gives a big cheer.

The complete rear suspension and final drive.

The whole front end and the steering shaft. I retained the wheels in order to move the JBA chassis around.

A trailer load of interior parts and a pile of metal parts. Cut up using a Big Grinder with metal cutting disc.

Now the work starts refurbishing the parts. That is on the next page.
