   The Inner Windscreen Frame.

Starting on The Inner Windscreen Frame.

This photo shows the parts of the inner windscreen.
Top = Hood retaining bar stainless steel.
Next = Mild steel Inner bar.
Each Side = Steel Inner side sections.
Bottom = Aluminium channel & P rubber.
Centre = Sealing Rubbers.

This photo shows a side section. These are handed. This is the right hand side one here.

The first part was to set up the wooden windscreen panel, which I made out of  Ply.

Using the original glass windscreen as a template.

Then cutting the bottom aluminium channel that fits across the car.

The Inner top centre has to fitted to the windscreen frame along with the Stainless hood retaining bar.

Next the side parts have to be fitted and cut so that the top part curves round to meet the centre inner part. The sealing rubber fits onto this.

Showing the sealing rubber curving round to meet the straight centre section.

Here you can see where the windscreen reaches as it meets the top inner section.

This was done dry no mastic etc used at this stage.

Next I fitted the running board strips and also the kick plate and rear wing protector.

Now it was time to strip the car down, ready for painting. I have started by removing the doors.

Another part I have still to conquer is fitting the dashboard.

I may leave this until my instruments arrive.

There does not seem much room to fit the demister vents, bearing in mind that all the instruments air vent hoses and a glove box have to be included.

Once the body parts are away for painting. I hope to have the engine running before they return. So it may be a lapse of a couple of months before I can add more to these pages.
I am looking forward to seeing him again. Robbie.
